Medals at Peel Judo Championships!
Sheffield Judo Club members, Sean Long, Brent Colclough, and Doug Wilson, all competed at the 2012 Peel Judo Championships in Woodbridge on March 31st, 2012.
Sean won both of his matches handily by hold-downs, in order to bring home a GOLD medal! Great warm-up for the upcoming National Judo Championships in July.
Brent Colclough also dominated his division in order to finish the day with a GOLD medal.
A SILVER medal was awarded to Doug Wilson, who also competed well.
Congratulations to all three athletes!

Silver for Sean!
Sheffield Judo Club's athlete, Sean Long, competed in the 2012 Ontario Winter Games Judo Championships on Friday, March 9th. The competition was held in Collingwood ON, where Sean won his matches decisively and brought home a silver medal.

Sheffield Judo Attends Training at Ajax Budokan
On Friday, January 28th, 2012, Sheffield Judo Club joined athletes and senseis from clubs in the CE region for a training at the Ajax Budokan Dojo. This special training session featured Sensei Pedro Guedes from Brazil (back row centre).
A fantastic training was had by all. Thanks to Sensei Guedes and the Ajax Budokan Dojo.

Sean makes the Ontario Winter Games Team!
Congratulations to Sean, who will represent Sheffield Judo Club and the Central East Region at the upcoming Ontario Winter Games. The 2012 Ontario Winter Games judo competition will be held in Collingwood, Ontario on Thurday, March 8th, 2012.

Sheffield Judo Club Congratulates Doug Wilson ~ YONDAN
Congratulations go out to Doug Wilson who was recently promoted to the rank of Yondan (fourth degree black belt). This is quite an amazing accomplishment. Doug and his sons are truly a "Judo Family". Doug is also pictured here with his uke Jim Peterkin.

Ontario Youth International 2011
Sheffield Judo Club members had great results at the first ever Ontario Youth International Judo Championships held on November 12-13, 2011, in Brampton Ontario.
Athletes from all over Canada came out to support this competition.
On the first day of competition, Colleen Welch and Megan Peterkin of Sheffield Judo Club both competed in the U17 competition in the +70kg and -70kg classes respectively. Both Colleen and Megan won their matches decisively and both came away with GOLD medals.

On the second day of competition, Sean Long competed in the U15 -42kg class. He competed very well, and ended the day with a 5th place finish.
Tressa Sheffield competed on the second day of competition in the U20 -48kg class. She came out of her pool in first place, and ended the day with a BRONZE medal finish.
Congratulations to Judo Ontario for a successful tournament, and congratulations to all Sheffield Judo Club competitors.
